Grace on the Go

Grace isn't quite crawling or walking yet, but boy is she trying! We think she may walk before she crawls because she absolutely loves standing on her legs, plus Michael walked at 8 months. I was a crazy child and would launch myself out of my crib (at 9 months my mom claims), crawl to my parents room, lift myself up to open their bedroom door and wake them up. Psycho! I'm hoping Grace takes after Michael and not me!!!
And she already wants to help with the dishes!

Our Little Peanut

If we have another girl in the future I think we may have to name her Lucy...after my grandmother and because this Peanut's shirt is so dang cute!

Happy Birthday James Michael McLain!

Michael circa early 1980's
Yes, he had a mullet in high school (that's his brother at the table sporting a mullet too)...and it was permed since his mom was a hair dresser and her boys were her guinea pigs. So awesome.

Sigma Chi fraternity photo from his University of Alabama days.

Present day.
One more year until he is "Over the Hill"!

Sweet Potato Face!

Grace tried her first solid food today...sweet potatoes! As you can tell by the photos, most of the sweet potatoes ended up on her face, her bib, her onesie, or on the Bumpo seat. But she didn't cry like she does when I try to feed her rice cereal. So I would say her first attempt was somewhat successful! Hooray!

Halloween Poopy Pants

I am very glad that I took photos of Grace in her polar bear costume (a gift from Auntie Em) early yesterday morning because by 10:30am her costume, which is white fleece, became an orange poopy mess. We left Michael's parents in the morning and then stopped at a rest stop about an hour later, which is when I discovered that she had pooped through her diaper, then through her waterproof pants, and onto her cute costume. It was nasty!!!
My cute little polar bear.

Grace loves her daddy so much. Seriously...nobody makes her smile and giggle more than Michael.
Grace loved hanging out with Grandma (and Papa Jim too) this weekend.

Bye bye Daphne, Alabama...hello Atlanta!

It was definitely bittersweet to leave the Mobile area since it was Michael and my first official home together and the birthplace of Grace. But we are definitely excited to move to Atlanta and are looking forward to everything a big city has to offer. Last week was full of goodbyes and lots and lots of organizing and packing (although the packers and movers did all of the real hard work).

Moving day tired my baby out!
I don't think I could have fit one more thing in my van.
