It's A Boy!

Michael MacKenzie "Mac" McLain was born on April 20 at 8:13pm, weighing 8 lbs 12 oz and measuring 21 inches...he's a big boy!  He has strawberry blond hair just like big sister Grace did when she was an infant.  We definitely have Scottish-Irish looking children!

Grace is a proud big sister.

Ducky was able to watch the birth, which was so special!

40 Weeks

I hit my due date yesterday and still no baby.  I'm so anxious to meet him or her, but I'm also enjoying the last few nights of 8+ hours of sleep since I know I won't be getting much sleep for the next 6 months.  I'll be induced sometime next week if the baby hasn't made his/her arrival by then.

A friend of mine sent me this poem to help me with the waiting process...it makes me cry every time I read it!

Waiting
Dear baby, here beneath my heart,
I thought that you might come today;
The timing just seemed right.
But the stars are out
And the moon is high
And sheepishly I wonder why
I try to arrange the plans of God.
For now I know
You will not come until the One
Who holds eternity rustles your soft cocoon
and whispers in tones that I will not hear,
"It's time, precious gift.
Now it's time."

Easter!

Easter 2012 was so much fun!  Grace woke up to an Easter basket overflowing with goodies (from the $1 bin at Target), then we headed to church, ate a delicious brunch which was followed by a long (and much needed) nap for the Baby Lady, and then the day concluded with Easter dinner at CiCi's house.

Grace loves Sarah so much!  Wow, the Italian olive and Scottish white skin tones are quite a contrast!!!
Sorry you'll never have a tan Grace :(

Yes, I am VERY large.

Thank you Jesus for your amazing love and for giving us so much to celebrate!!!

Front Yard Fun

Now that it's definitely Spring here in Atlanta, Grace's new favorite place is outside...even when it's dark and past her bedtime.

Grace loves smelling flowers.  She also likes to pull them off the stem, which I'm sure our Home Owner's Association would not appreciate.

Grace loves her Gampy (or Dumpy in her pronunciation).

Ready to Pop!

It's been such a great past few weeks since Grant and Debs (a.k.a. Gampy and Ducky) have been in Atlanta.  I didn't realize how tired I was from chasing Grace around, running errands, and feeling huge.  So it's nice to have time to rest and relax and know Grace is in good hands.

And Grace is OBSESSED with Ducky.  She doesn't really care about me or Michael anymore.  The first thing she says when she wakes up is "Hi Ducky".  All throughout the day she wants to play with and be held by Ducky.  And when it's bedtime she wants Ducky to bathe her, read to her and tuck her in.  It's nice to know she won't be upset at all when Michael and I spend a few nights in the hospital when baby #2 arrives!
